The Canadian sponsorship of this international award program is designed for young Canadians aged 14-24 and focuses on developing a variety of areas of personal growth through goal setting and self-motivation. The program has bronze, silver and gold levels emphasizing the themes of service, skill development, physical recreation, adventurous journey, and residential project (gold level only). Each level has minimum time requirements to complete and must be completed by the participant's 25th birthday to be eligible.

The program is independent of the Cadet Program but most of the requirements for obtaining the award levels can be achieved by participating in the Cadet Program. To assist with this the Squadron has a qualified Award Leader who will guide interested cadets through the program and support them to success.
